Is there a cozy place between complete chaos and a spotless home? I believe there is!  Let me help you get there.

Keeping a clean home may not be easy but once you start doing it you will love it.

Welcome to Stress Free Home Cleaning Weekly Routine! Happy Tuesday - that means that it's Dusting Day!

Why is it dusting day? let me explain it in simple words. To me create a small task list and prioritize on an "special" task each day of the week makes my life easier and stress free.

Each day I dedicate one hour of my time to keep my house always looking its best. People that visit me, regularity ask me, What do I do to keep my place so clean and tidy.

People think it is easy to keep a home clean because I own a cleaning company, or because I don't have small children at home. But the truth is that I work over 60 hours a week managing a business with about 60 clients and a team of four peri-menopausal women, on top I run non-profit organization in my foreign country with 10 volunteers, educating, feeding and parenting 150 orphan children. I also rent out my extra room though an BNB so I constantly have guests at home, and I own two very hairy pets. So believe me my life is not different from yours, and not because I "own" a cleaning business that means I own a magic wand (I wish!)

Per example Mondays are my bathrooms day. I start by placing an small amount of cleaning solution at the center of my sink, toilet and tub. Then I remove all the items on floors, and broom excess of hair and dust. Then I proceed to give a simple scrub to my sink and dry the areas around it and with the same wipe I clean the mirror on top of the sink and the counter top. Follow I wash my toilet and dry it out with two or three papel towels (I feel disgusted by using a terry towel on them and have to wash them all together with the kitchen rags). Right after I jump in the shower (guess what?, you bet!) (naked of course!) I use the time I shower to completely wash my shower from top to bottom and to give an efficient scrub to my bathtub or in other case my shower floors. To dry my glass shower doors and keep them clean and shiny between cleanings, I usually keep a good squeegee as the ones from Casabella or OXO brands, and a small towel; so right after each shower I give the doors a 5 second dry out.

Right after I am done with cleaning the shower, I give a total floor cleaning by hand; I use my own cleaning agent, which is a super organic and family friendly solution composed by a half cup of white vinegar and one cup of water and I like to add on few drops of my favorite essential oil, in my case I prefer lavender or lemon oils.

Cleaning is not easy or fun thing to do but once you do it you will feel amazing.

I kinda follow a simple routine each day to make life easier. So let's continue with our calendar and routine.

Monday Bathrooms

Tuesdays Dust

Wednesday Vacuum Carpeted areas

Thursday Mop Floors

Fridays Dust and quick bathroom touch up (*we will get back to this later)

Saturday Change of Sheets and Towels

Remember I told you I also follow a small routine well the routine does not mean I only do one task, but mostly means there few other simple tasks that in the long run they help me accomplish the overall cleaning of my place.

Monday through Saturday follow by my main "special" task, I also add the following additional chores.

Make beds (5-10 minutes easy straight up per bed)

Wash dishes, wipe kitchen and bathroom counters and around sinks, (about 15-20 minutes dependent on the size of your kitchen and amount of dishes)

Check floors (quick swipe, or run a swiffer to collect pet hair and other debri, specially on family areas as living room, dining room and kitchen) (15-20 minutes dependent on the size of your flooring area)

Pick up all clutter (grave a laundry basket and try to collect all the items that don't belong to each room and then go around my house and set items back where they belong) (10-45 minutes dependent on how well you educate your family to help you with this task)

Run one load of laundry per day (60 minutes between wash, dry, fold and put away)

On Fridays (*) I do a quick run through my place dusting only easy surfaces and giving a quick clorox wipes, wipe off on my toilets and sinks. If you own a house with dishwasher, I would highly recommend you to load it up, thought out the day and run it overnight; this way you will be able to cross the "wash the dishes" off your list of tasks.

If your home requires deep cleaning, like interior oven/fridge, or interior windows and sills, door tracks, door doors and walls, etc. I would recommend you to hire a cleaning crew like Magnolia Maids to perform those special DEEP CLEANING tasks for you.

You may think it is not possible to keep your home clean and tidy, it is not easy to clean it by yourself but once you get the amazing feeling of a clean home you would also love to live clean, remember our homes are our sanctuaries.
